List of school budget proposals in the Southern Tier for upcoming election

SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. (WETM) — Coming next week, New Yorkers will go to the polls on Tuesday, May 21, to vote for their local school budgets, appoint new seats in the school board, and vote to pass propositions in the school district.
School districts in our area have proposed increasing school funding, thus increasing tax rates, while other districts propose decreasing tax rates for residents, but do not receive as much funding as last year.
For both Corning and Horseheads, the budget vote has to achieve a supermajority in order to pass, meaning the number of yes votes needs to equal at least 60% of the total number of voters.
