How Martha Stewart Throws a Kentucky Derby Party

To say that Martha Stewart has a knack for entertaining just might qualify as the understatement of the century. The domestic maven made her name on her impeccable taste and her flair for throwing a wow-worthy party down, with even the smallest details accounted for. So when Churchill Downs announced that the star herself would be curating a menu of recipes to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Kentucky Derby right in your own home, all we could think was "time to start sending out Derby party invitations!"With less than two weeks to go until the big race (the Derby runs on May 4, 2024) it's the perfect time to plan your festivities.

The menu includes essential southern-style bites that will make everyone feel like they're getting a little taste of Louisville, as well as decor tips for setting up a Derby-themed centerpiece, and of course, Martha's take on the event's signature cocktail, the mint julep. Ever better, Martha's version of the must-have drink, featuring a unique lemon-y zip, is designed to be made in batches, so you won't have to worry about spending the party stuck behind the bar.
