LANSING TWP. - Three new restaurants coming to the township are expected to open or begin to take shape this spring and summer.

The new businesses will bring more fast-causal, entertainment-driven and sit-down dining options to the area by the end of 2025. They'll join existing restaurants, including BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, P.F. Chang's, Bravo! Italian Kitchen and others.

Here's what we know about the status of all three projects − Panda Express, Dave & Buster's and Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant.

Panda Express is poised to open its fifth Lansing area location at 2750 Preyde Blvd. on less than an acre and a half. The 2,225-square-foot restaurant near the corner of Preyde Boulevard and Lake Lansing Road is already constructed with signage on the exterior.

"I think they're pretty much in the final stages," Lansing Township Planner Brad Beck said. The restaurant, which includes a drive-thru lane, is expected to open sometime this month, he said.

It's unclear how many people the restaurant will employ or how many seats the dining room will have. The company, which has over 2,000 locations worldwide, didn't respond to a message.

Last year the project's developer indicated plans to build a second fast-casual restaurant on the remaining space on the property. That building is expected to be slightly larger at 2,340 square feet. Developers have not yet announced the name of that restaurant.

Dave & Buster's

Construction of the Lansing area's first Dave & Buster's, expected to be built near the Eastwood Towne Center, is expected to start this summer, Beck said.

"They're fully approved through the planning department and I believe they have all their building permits," he said.

The 22,000-square-foot restaurant will be built on roughly 4 acres at 3200 Preyde Blvd., near the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott. The building is expected to have seating for up to 220 people with games, an arcade, a full-service restaurant and bar, and parking for about 270 vehicles.

Beck said the restaurant, which will be the company's fourth location in Michigan, is expected to open sometime in 2025.

Officials first approved a site plan for the building's construction in 2022. A 12-month extension for the Dallas-based restaurant chain's plan was approved in October.

Dave & Buster's currently operates locations in Kentwood, Livonia and Utica. The company currently operates more than 150 locations in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, according to its website.

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, an Illinois-based restaurant and winery, is expected to start building its fourth Michigan restaurant at the corner of Wood Street and Lake Lansing Road this summer.

"Basically, they're through the approval process including the drain commission," Beck said. The nearly 10,000-square-foot building will be built at 2101 Lake Lansing Road on approximately 2 1/2 acres. It's expected to open sometime in 2025, Beck said.

"They'll be building through the winter," he said.

The business will likely employ over 100 people, Beck said.

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is described as an upscale "modern casual restaurant, Napa-style tasting room and artisanal retail market." The chain was founded in 2005 and offers a "contemporary American menu," according to its website. An online menu includes steak and pork chops, pasta dishes, salmon and grouper, as well as chicken, burgers and sandwiches, and vegetarian dishes.

The company operates more than 60 locations in 11 states, including restaurants in Kentwood, Clinton Township and Troy, according to its website.
