Kingsley man killed in T-bone crash on M-37

May 24—TRAVERSE CITY — A 61-year-old Kingsley man was killed when his truck was T-boned by another truck as he was crossing M-37, according to Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office officials.

They are withholding the man's name until next-of-kin notifications are complete.

The Kingsley man was traveling westbound on M-113 in a silver pickup truck around 3:19 p.m. Thursday when he stopped at the stop sign at the M-37 intersection in Kingsley, Lt. Jon Morgan said. He was struck by a blue pickup truck traveling southbound when he pulled into the intersection.

The Kingsley man was taken by Blair Township Emergency Medical Services to Munson Medical Center where he died, Morgan said.

The driver of the blue truck, a 47-year-old Tustin man, and his front-seat passenger, a 49-year-old Tustin woman, were evaluated on the scene. Morgan said the driver suffered from minor abrasions and refused further medical treatment, and the woman was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Morgan said speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash at this time. The case remains under investigation.
