Kansas, Blue Oyster Cult to perform at VMCCC

Mar. 28—LIMA — Legendary musical groups Blue Oyster Cult and Kansas are coming to Lima.

Tickets for shows in August and October at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center are set to go on sale Friday, April 5, the venue announced Thursday.

"This is thanks to a great partnership we have with promoter Honeywell, which brings us about half of our live touring shows," Civic Center CEO Abe Ambroza said. "And these are two more shows that they'll be bringing to us. They bring a high-quality product every time and these are two great bands that do a great job on stage."

Kansas will take the stage Aug. 9 and Blue Oyster Cult will perform Oct. 26, and they promise to bring all the hits everyone loves.

"Their hits were from a few years ago, but when they perform on stage, they still love it," Ambroza said. "They perform with a lot of great energy and the talent is definitely still there."

Kansas is known for the songs "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind," among others, while Blue Oyster Cult is known for "Burnin' for You" and "Godzilla".

Ambroza also promoted VIP packages available for the Kansas show, but said to order tickets quickly.

"Buy your tickets soon because our shows are selling like crazy lately and people love entertainment," he said.

Both shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
