Jersey Mike’s Subs donates all sales for one day to the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — It was all hands on deck…on sandwiches actually, for the team at Jersey Mike’s Subs.

“The amount of work our team puts in preparing for this…” said Brendon Finney, Marketing Manager for Jersey Mike’s Subs. “They’re ready to go today, they’ve all been here super early prepping. It is a hectic day, but it’s something we all look forward to.”

For over a decade, Brendon Finney has grown with Jersey Mike’s Subs and trusts his team to not only conquer lunch rush hour, but to welcome the many donations that will go entirely to the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House.

A place that many families call home.

Raising for ‘Runners Giving Day provides funding for students, programs

“We had been open about six months and there was a family on a Friday night who had ordered a pizza, and they were playing Jenga in the kitchen,” Scarlett Sabin, Director of the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House. “It struck me that the house became a home.”

Since 2011, Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $88 million dollars for charities.

“It’s really hard to explain Bakersfield, but it is seriously the most giving community,” said Sabin. “You know, you can say what you want about our weather and other things, but we definitely have a passion for making an impact. People want their dollars to stay locally.”

In 2023, Jersey Mike’s raised $56 thousand dollars for the Month of Giving.
