Jefferson County Quorum Court files lawsuit against county judge
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. – The dispute between the Jefferson County Quorum Court and County Judge Gerald Robinson continues with a lawsuit.
Justice of the Peace of District 5 Lloyd Franklin II claimed that Robinson has sold unauthorized county equipment.
“It’s a criminal act and this is not the first time that he’s done this,” Franklin said.

Franklin said Robinson failed to follow several procedures, along with getting an appraisal.
“As far as filing a court order with the description of the property, why he’s selling the property, the nature of the property,” Robinson said.
In the lawsuit, Franklin is asking for a restraining order to keep Robinson from auctioning off equipment.
“The documentation from the legislative audit dinging him in 2022 for illegally selling county equipment then is the same thing that he’s still doing two years later,” Franklin said.
Robinson said he’s confident the suit won’t go far because he did nothing wrong.
“If Justice Franklin and the rest feel like I’m not doing my job maybe the best thing to do is enter a race and run against me,” Robinson said.
