INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana University Indianapolis has hired Paul Corsaro as the school’s new head men’s basketball coach.

The Indianapolis native takes over the Jaguars’ program after spending the last four seasons at his alma mater, the University of Indianapolis, leading the Greyhounds to a 68-25 record, back-to-back Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season titles and two straight appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

“I’m honored to be the head men’s basketball coach at IU Indianapolis,” Corsaro said in a school release. “I want to thank president [Pamela] Whitten, chancellor [Latha] Ramchand and our athletic director Luke Bosso, for their belief in me and my vision for this program. My wife, Brooke, and my son, Greg, are equally excited to be Jaguars and cannot wait to hit the ground running and get integrated with the entire IU Indianapolis community.”

Corsaro led UIndy to a school-record 26 wins and a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament in 2023, winning NABC Midwest and GLVC Coach of the Year honors. The Greyhounds went 23-9 this season, earning a top seed for the second straight year.

He began his coaching career as an assistant at UIndy for six seasons before moving to the Division I level with Purdue Fort Wayne for two years.

Corsaro was a two-sport star at UIndy, playing in both the NCAA basketball tournament and the NCAA DII football playoffs. He is Roncalli High School’s all-time leader in career points.

“To be a Division I head coach in Indianapolis – my hometown – I cannot think of anything better,” Corsaro said. “I’m excited about the future of our basketball program and athletic department, especially due to the new leadership of chancellor Ramchand and direction of Luke, as well as the commitment shown by president Whitten.

“We will win. We will win quickly. We will win the right way – the ethical way. And we will make the city of Indianapolis proud of the Jaguar basketball program.”
