According to Henderson County permit records, the new Ingles is being built at 6034 Asheville Highway, which is just outside Fletcher town limits in Hendersonville. The Ingles is less than a mile from Smiley's Flea Market.

Matt Champion, Henderson County Code Services Director and Zoning Administrator, told the Times-News on May 9 that the county received the major site plan from Ingles in July 2023.

"The Technical Review Committee issued a conditional approval for the major site plan on Aug. 15, 2023.  Since then, the developer has been obtaining the necessary permits to begin construction on the site," he said. "As of now, the developer has obtained all necessary permits to begin construction."

The site plan shows a 96,120 square-foot grocery store, along with an additional standalone structure containing 9,600 square feet of retail space. There will also be a 6,156-square-foot convenience store with fuel pumps.
