Independence police investigating deadly crash near 40 Highway

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — The Independence Police Department is investigating a crash that killed a Raytown man.

Around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, a crash happened near the intersection of Noland Road and US 40 Highway.

The crash occurred when a Dodge Dart was hit by a BMW M3, according to police. The driver of the Dodge suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The driver died from his injuries around two hours later.

The driver of the Dodge was identified as Charles Hall, an 87-year-old from Raytown. The other driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The other driver was not named by police.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
