Ice cream shop ‘on a mission to make ice cream less vanilla’ opens in Concord’s The Veranda

(KRON) — A popular San Francisco-based ice cream shop is expanding further with a new location in the East Bay. Humphry Slocombe opened on Monday at The Veranda in Concord, according to the ice cream company’s website.

Only for Monday’s grand opening, Humphry Slocombe will give out free scoops from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Customers are invited to donate $1 to its charity partner Project Open Hand. More details can be found on the event page.

The Concord ice cream shop is located at 2045 Diamond Blvd. #34.

Founded in 2008 by Jake Godby and Sean Vahey, Humphry Slocombe began in San Francisco as an ice cream company “on a mission to make ice cream less vanilla.”

There are three Humphry Slocombe locations in San Francisco: Ferry Building, Dogpatch and Mission District. There are also locations in Oakland, Berkeley, Redwood City, Emeryville, Campbell and San Mateo.
