Houma woman arrested, accused of sex crime involving teen

TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A Houma woman accused of committing a sex crime involving a teenage boy has been arrested.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced 31-year-old Heather Renee Billiot was arrested on a charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile on Tuesday, April 2.

In an initial investigation by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit, investigators said they learned of information in reference to an alleged sexual relationship between Billiot and a teenage boy, while investigating a connected complaint.

TPSO officials said SVU detectives began an investigation into the allegations, which were allegedly confirmed through interviews of Billiot and the teen.

TPSO detectives also said through the investigation they were “able to substantiate through evidence that a sexual relationship was occurring.”

Billiot was arrested and taken to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.

According to the TPSO, the victim “has been remanded to the custody of the Department of Child and Family Services.”
