Horton hits fifth home run of the season for Liberty baseball

LYNCHBURG, V.A. (WETM) – Sayre grad Brayden Horton is staying red hot at the plate for Liberty baseball.

Sayre grad Brayden Horton mashed his 5th home run of the season for Liberty baseball, on Saturday. The standout sophomore capped off the Flames’ 9-3 win over Sam Houston State, with an 8th inning home run. The blast accounts for Horton’s 4th homer in the past 7 games with Liberty. The Northern Tier native’s 2 hit, 2 run performance raises his season totals to an impressive set of numbers. Horton is batting .283 with 5 home runs, 17 RBI, and 13 runs, on 15 hits.

Horton and the Flames will host 11th ranked Duke on Tuesday, as they search for the 4th straight win. The game is slated to broadcast on ESPN+ at 4 p.m.
