Honor Memorial Day with parades, celebrations happening across Southern California
From parades and celebrations honoring those who have served and lost their lives defending our country to outdoor picnics and barbecues celebrating the unofficial start to summer, Southern California has a plethora of events for Memorial Day weekend.
If you are still figuring out what to do, here are a few events happening across the Southland this weekend.
Airbnb says no to ‘disruptive’ parties over Memorial Day, Fourth of July
Fiesta Hermosa at Hermosa Beach
From May 25 to May 27, guests can enjoy free live music, try out new foods, visit craft booths and more at Fiesta Hermosa. The event is free to the public.
Fleek Week Los Angeles
L.A. Fleet Week is a free annual, multi-day celebration of our nation’s Sea Services held on the L.A. Waterfront at the Port of Los Angeles over Memorial Day Weekend. The event, which kicked off on May 22, includes live entertainment, aircraft flyovers, sports competitions like dodgeball, and more.

Garden Grove Strawberry Festival
Rides, attractions, contests and more will be available to guests at this free event, which runs from May 24 until May 27. Attendants can also receive a free strawberry shortcake on opening day at 6 p.m. More information can be found here.
Glendale Field of Honor
The Glendale Field of Honor is a multi-day event with people stopping by Forest Lawn to admire the many displayed flags. The display honors veterans, current military personnel, first responders, community leaders and other heroes. Attendees can also sponsor a flag by visiting this website.
Corvette Car Show and Chili Cook-Off in El Segundo
A free car show will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum on Saturday. Those who want to enter their car in the show will have to pay a $20 fee.
Attending the show doesn’t include admission to the museum.
Memorial Day Parade in Canoga Park
The 32nd annual will kick off at 11 a.m. in Canoga Park on Memorial Day. The complete parade route can be found here.
