Hollyoaks spoilers follow for the latest episode on Channel 4 streaming, which airs on Thursday on E4.

Hollyoaks has aired Sharon Bailey's exit scenes tonight (April 24), as Jamelia makes her departure from the Channel 4 soap.

In the latest episode, Sharon was adamant about moving away to Dubai, and believed she had convinced daughter Zoe Anderson to come with her, and had even found job applications for her to fill in.

Zoe was clearly uncomfortable about the idea of leaving the village behind, while her grandmother Pearl was totally behind the decision, stating: "A bit more notice would have been nice, but as much as I'll miss you and Zoe, I couldn't be more proud."

Later on, at the Love Boat, Zoe admitted to Lizzie Chen-Williams that she really didn't want to leave her friends, Pearl, and Hunter McQueen behind.

As Sharon prepared to get in the taxi, Zoe said she didn't need her mum to whisk her off to Dubai to make up for not being there for her as a kid, but to be proud of who she is now.

In the end, Sharon left the village, while Zoe hugged Pearl and tearfully said that getting up and leaving was "just what she does."

Explaining why she decided to leave Hollyoaks, Jamelia said in the ITV documentary series Drama Queens: "Hollyoaks was like putting a plaster on a very deep wound. But I know I haven't done the healing work that needs to be done and I can't do it while focusing on such a demanding job...

"They offered me another year, I wanted to say yes because I loved it but I just know that it wouldn't be the right thing for me to do right now."

She later told Digital Spy that she hopes everyone at the soap remains positive after a round of job cuts and a reduction in episodes was announced.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
