Help clean Hume Lake at this event at Sequoia National Forest

SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK. (KSEE/KGPE) – Sequoia National Forest officials encourage the public to grab their mud boots, partner in muddy crime, and volunteer to help with the trash cleanup at Hume Lake this Saturday.

Organizers say volunteers are encouraged to bring mud boots or appropriate footwear for working in mud, a winter jacket or cold-weather clothing, gloves, and/or a sturdy walking stick.

A walking partner is highly encouraged, organizers said.

According to organizers, the weather is predicted to be cold but clear after a mid-week storm system passes over the area.

The trash cleanup will be on Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m. Officials say interested volunteers are invited to meet at the Powder Can Day Use area for check-in and a safety briefing at 11 a.m.

For more information on road conditions, before travelling to the event, check the Sequoia National Parks’ website.
