Gun Barrel City home and contents considered loss after fire

GUN BARREL CITY, Texas (KETK) – A home and its contents are considered a loss after a structure fire in Gun Barrel City on Wednesday.

According to the Gun Barrel City Fire Department, they responded to a structure fire at 10:31 p.m. on Wednesday in the 100 block of Twelve Oaks Circle. Gun Barrel City FD said that when they arrived on the scene, half of the residence was already engulfed in flames.

The fire department said that the residence and its contents were considered a loss due to fire, smoke and water damage. Officials said the resident was home at the time of the fire and was able to escape with their pets.

The American Red Cross is assisting the homeowner and the Gun Barrel City Fire Marshal is investigating the fire.
