Gulf Shores police release spring break 2024 arrest data

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) — Spring break 2024 brought many visitors, and some crime, to South Baldwin County’s beaches, according to the Gulf Shores Police Department.

The department shared a final recap of arrests made between March 1 and April 21.

There were 286 arrests, according to the department.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • 141 arrests for underage possession of alcohol

  • 80 arrests for drug violations

  • 17 arrests for public intoxication

  • 24 arrests for driving under the influence

  • 13 arrests for obstruction of justice/resisting arrest

  • 10 arrests for theft, including shoplifting

  • 1 arrest for assault, first-degree
