Golf course built on community thrives in Falcon

(FALCON, Colo.) — We Are The Eastern Plains and on Tuesday, April 2, FOX21 Morning News highlighted the Antler Creek Golf Course in Falcon.

FOX21’s Live and Local Morning Reporter Julie Baker spoke with Ed Kujalowicz, Head PGA Golf Pro at the course, and Wayne Reorda, the General Manager.

The two men have known each other since middle school and what better office to have than the golf course? “We get a lot of things done because we have the same views and concepts of what golf is,” Kujalowicz said of working with Reorda.

The Antler Creek Golf Course offers a stunning view of Pikes Peak from nearly every hole. “We’re a very challenging golf course; at one point we were the longest in Colorado,” Reorda said.

Built in 2004 and on roughly 90 acres of irrigated turf, the course, located at 9650 Antler Creek Drive, is surrounded by homes and the nearby community. “We like them to think of it as their golf course,” Reorda said of the surrounding neighborhoods.

The views have attracted golfers from across the country. “We do have people who come from out of state. The ball goes farther up here; with the altitude, the ball will go further, so they find it a little bit more fun, and they like the views,” Kujalowicz noted. “And in the summertime, the weather can’t be beat; it’s not too hot, it’s not too cold, it’s basically perfect.”

The Antler Creek Golf Course is community-centered and hosts various Southern Colorado events and schools including; Liberty Tree Academy, military appreciation events, and numerous tournaments and fundraisers.
