Glass and Lowe win in Republican Ross County Commissioner races

CHILLICOTHE — During the Ross County Primary Election citizens saw many names running for office on their ballots. Here is a look at the unofficial results from the Ross County Board of Elections.

With no opponents running those running in the Democratic Party made it through to the November election. This includes Mark Hirsch for County Commissioner, Ben Trotter for Coroner, Kathy Dunn for County Recorder and Arthur Beatty for State Representative of the 92nd District.

In the Republican Party, four men were vying for two County Commissioner seats. Voters chose between David Glass or Ken Shelton and Jason Link or incumbent James Lowe. In their respective races, Glass won with 4,778 to 2,502 votes in his race and Lowe won with 4,499 to 2,341 votes.

Glass said he is grateful for all those who voted and supported him in his campaign. He is now ready to focus on November when he will officially be up for a seat as Ross County Commissioner. Glass ran hoping to bring more ideas from a younger generation into local politics. He hopes to use his knowledge to help Ross County become a place where families want to live.

"I'm grateful for the ones who came out and supported a new generation of leadership for Ross County," said Glass.

Lowe ran to continue his work as commissioner wanting to increase infrastructure and help the county become more appealing to new businesses. Lowe said it was good to win this primary and he plans to "continue working."

For Clerk of Court of Common Pleas Jordan Wheeler beat Joseph Weathersbee with 4,089 to 2,644 votes.

Uncontested races included Jeffery Marks for Prosecuting Attorney, George Lavender Jr. for Sheriff, Charles Ortman for County Engineer, David Jeffers for County Treasurer, Anthony Maughmer for County Recorder, Matthew Schmidt for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas and Mark Johnson for State Representative of the 92nd District.
