Georgia fugitive charged in Charlotte with more than 160 grams of drugs: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man wanted in Georgia was arrested in Charlotte after being found with more than 160 grams of drugs in his car, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On Tuesday, officers responded to the 1200 block of Lucky Penny Street about an occupied suspicious vehicle.

When officers arrived and searched the vehicle, they found a 9mm handgun, seven grams of heroin, 124 grams of crack, 15 grams of cocaine, seven grams of meth, eight grams of marijuana and $1,500 in cash.

The suspect, 32-year-old Deonte Davis, was charged with:

  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

  • Trafficking cocaine

  • Trafficking heroin

  • Possession with intent to sell/deliver meth

  • Possession of marijuana

  • Maintaining a vehicle for use/storage of controlled substances

  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

  • Fugitive warrant (Georgia)
