Free event teaches tenants about fair housing

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Thursday, April 25 the City of Colorado Springs and El Paso County are inviting the public to attend a free “Know Your Rights to Fair Housing” event.

The City said the event will be held at the Family Success Center located at 1520 Verde Drive. The City said the events will allow attendees to learn about federal, state, and local fair housing laws, the event will also provide information on the rights of tenants with disabilities and reasonable accommodation.

“Many residents may not know that there are laws that protect residents from housing discrimination,” said Barb Van Hoy with the City’s Housing and Community Vitality Department. “This event can help equip residents with the information they may need to help find a safe and secure home.”
