Former Gogglebox stars Stephen and Daniel Lustig-Webb have announced their divorce after six years of marriage.

Confirming the news in a statement to The Sun, the pair revealed that they have made the decision to "part ways" but will "forever be friends."

"It's with much sadness Daniel and I have decided to divorce," Stephen began.

"There is, and always will be, a lot of love there but we've unfortunately grown apart and made the decision to part ways."

Daniel added: "We've made the decision with a heavy heart to confirm our marriage has come to an end. I'm sure we will forever be friends."

The couple got engaged in front of India's Taj Mahal in 2016, before tying the knot two years later in a romantic ceremony held at Chateau de Lisse in Lot-et-Garonne, France.

Stephen was one of the original cast members of Gogglebox, where he shot to fame in 2013 alongside ex-boyfriend Chris Ashby-Steed — who later left the show in 2018 following the couple's split.

Chris was then replaced by Stephen's late mum Pat Webb, who joined him on the sofa between series 10 and 12, until Daniel was made a permanent cast member.

Last year, the couple decided to leave the show to "move on and explore other opportunities."

In a heartfelt statement on Instagram, Stephen announced their departure, saying: "We feel the time is right to move on and explore other opportunities. We would both like to thank Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for letting us be part of this amazing, funny and heartwarming show.

"We are extremely thankful to the cast and crew, or Gogglebox family as we call them, and of course the fans, thank you for all of your love & support over the years."

Stephen later joined the cast of Dancing on Ice, though was forced to withdraw from the 2024 series after sustaining a broken ankle in training.

Gogglebox airs and streams on Channel 4.
