LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Travelers at the Lancaster Airport (LNS) will soon have more flight options when planning trips to Florida.

Beginning this fall, Breeze Airways will offer nonstop service from Lancaster Airport to Orlando International Airport (MCO). The first flight will be October 8 with service offered on Thursdays and Sundays.

The new Lancaster Airport option comes weeks after Frontier Airlines said they would end all flights from Harrisburg International Airport, including trips to Florida.

“With travel only expected to rise, Lancaster Airport must continue to work to meet the
community’s growing demands,” Ed Foster, Executive Director at the Lancaster Airport said. “This
partnership with Breeze opens exciting new opportunities for our region to allow family, friends,
and businesses to connect with non-stop services to one of the most popular destinations that local Lancaster travelers go to daily.”

The airport says bundled and a la carte options for fliers could include checked bags, priority boarding, and WiFi.

Locally, officials hope to see an economic boost in the new flight options.

“Breeze’s planned service will provide another useful way that folks can get to Lancaster for
whatever purpose they are traveling here – tourism, business, visiting relatives,” said Edward
Harris, President & CEO of Discover Lancaster. “Any positive effect such travel can have on local tourism would certainly be economically beneficial to our area.”

The routes will be served on Breeze’s Airbus A220-300.

Lancaster Airport currently offers service from Southern Airways traveling to Pittsburgh and Washington/Dulles. There is also a “landline” motorcoach option to Philadelphia International Airport.
