Florence police seize copious amounts of marijuana, cocaine and fentanyl; 5 arrested

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — Five people were arrested and copious amounts of marijuana, fentanyl and cocaine were seized after Florence police conducted a search warrant Wednesday afternoon.

Florence police conducted a search warrant at a residence on Waxwing Drive. Officers seized 320 grams of marijuana, 240 grams of cocaine, 87 grams of fentanyl, 50 dosage units of clonazepam and more than $6,000 in cash.

Five people were arrested and face the following charges:

  • Tyrus Sansbury was charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking cocaine base, trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and felony possession of ammunition.

  • Vanshawn Sowells Jr. was charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and felony possession of ammunition.

  • Tyshawn Sowells was charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

  • Eddie Wilson was charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

  • Marilin Wilson was charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

All five were booked into the Florence County Detention Center and await a bond hearing.
