First ever EmployNV Career Expo featuring workshops, job fair coming to Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — For the first time, EmployNV will be hosting a career expo featuring a job fair and workshops.

Held at the Sahara West Library on Tuesday, April 30, the career expo will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to a release from EmployNV, more than 50 employers will be at the expo looking for fill over 7,500 entry to senior level positions.

Some hiring managers will be interviewing and hiring on the spot, the release said. Employers attending include MGM Resorts International, Marksman Security, Clark County School District, Link Technologies, Fontainebleau Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

For those interested in attending the workshops, there are three different workshops offered at several times through the day. The scheduled is listed below:

  • Resume Workshop: Learn how to create or update your resume

    • 10:15 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

  • LinkedIn Workshop: Learn how to market yourself and connect to employers on LinkedIn.

    • 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

  • Interview Skills Workshop: Learn interviewing techniques that will help you land your dream job.

    • 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

“This is the first time we’ve had workshops in tandem with a job fair,” EmployNV Business Hub Manager Marchele Sneed said. “We are excited about the new opportunities this event will bring. We can’t wait to connect more people to workforce opportunities and the education they need to make informed career decisions.”

Career coaches will be in attendance to provide job seekers with resume reviews. Job seekers will be able to use laptops and printers at no charge.

Those who wish to attend are encouraged to pre-register on the EmployNV Expo website. Once you register, you will receive a complete list of employers, learn about available jobs, and other important event information.

The event is free and open to the public. Food trucks and free parking will be available.
