Final weekend for one Irish-themed Lexington sports bar. Here’s where it’s moving

Last call for O’Rounds: A popular Irish-themed Lexington sports bar is closing its doors after this weekend.

Shamrock Bar & Grille at 4750 Hartland Parkway, Suite 128, announced on social media that it will serve food, including the O’Round and Roethlisberger burgers, until 11 p.m. Sunday, May 19, and will have drinks only on Monday, May 20.

The other location of Shamrock on Patchen Drive is staying put.

After Memorial Day, Shamrock will reopen in the Brannon Crossing shopping center near the Lexington-Nicholasville line. The bar will be on Lancer Drive, near Jake’s Cigar Bar and Movie Tavern.

When the move was announced in 2023, Shamrock said that the bar and restaurant, known for Irish food such as Shepherd’s Pie, Irish Pot Roast and Fish & Chips as well as pub food such as wings and burgers, had outgrown its Hartland location.

“Hartland has been amazing and we are very thankful for our years there,” the bar said in a post on Facebook. The new location is larger, with a patio.

The bar is moving to a growing area, where Publix is expected to open in coming years, and Wawa is expected to break ground in June on its first Central Kentucky store.
