FBI investigates bank robberies in Hanover Park, Schaumburg

COOK COUNTY, Ill. — The FBI and police are investigating two bank robberies Thursday afternoon in two suburban Cook County communities.

The incidents both happened at US Bank locations, a bank robbery in the 1300 block of West Irving Park Road in Hanover Park and an attempted bank robbery in the 60 block of Meacham Road in Schaumburg.

According to the FBI, it is believed the same person committed both robberies.\

The man is described as being in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, with a thin, muscular build, according to the FBI. He was armed with a handgun and had on a black hooded sweatshirt, blue durag on his head, blue gloves, a black facial covering and black sweatpants.

He left both banks in a Nissan Altima with a possible skeleton decal on the driver’s side, wear marks on the roof above the windshield and a broken driver’s side mirror with wires hanging out, according to the FBI.

The car does not have a license plate, according to the FBI.
