Fayette BOE to convene April 16

Apr. 16—The Fayette County Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, April 16, at the central office in Fayetteville.

Prior to the 6 p.m. regular meeting, the board will reconvene a recessed session from March 12. That continuation will begin at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday. For it, Superintendent Gary Hough recommends approval of proposed levy rates for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.

The agenda for the regular session includes Associate Superintendent Anna Kincaid-Cline making presentations and reports on the New River Primary student support team, as well as the Educational Summit.

Besides addressing various financial and personnel issues, the board will also hear a recommendation from Hough to approve a board resolution related to invoices for FEMA-4679-DR-WV/Earth movement at Valley PK-8.

The board will also act on a request from Oak Hill High School for 51 members of the school band and FCBOE employees and board-approved chaperones to travel to Ashland, Ky., on May 10 for an incentive trip to Malibu Jacks. Funding will come from the OHHS Band Boosters, and travel will be by FCS bus.

—April 23, 10 a.m. — Special meeting for work session at the board central office;

—April 23, 6 p.m. — Regional LSIC meeting for Oak Hill high and middle schools at the middle school; and

—April 30, 6 p.m. — Regular meeting at the board central office.
