Fatal crash: Car goes off I-77 into ‘high water’, OSP

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that killed one person on I 77 in Dover Township Tuesday.

Troopers said an 86-year-old woman was killed in the crash that happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the woman who died as Doris Webber from Strasburg who troopers said was driving a Honda Civic. “The Honda used the emergency crossover in the median to do a U-turn and traveled northbound on Interstate 77,” troopers said.

Troopers said that’s when the driver of a Toyota Rav4 struck the back of Webber’s Honda which went off the road, striking a ditch and landing in “high water.”

The woman driving the Toyota was treated for minor injuries, troopers said.
