Fairfax County police arrest man accused of proposing sex act to minor

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said it arrested a man on Wednesday at his Manassas home after arranging to meet up with a potential minor.

Police said they arrested 26-year-old Sattar Ahmed Khan after they learned that Khan was using electronics to meet up with a person he thought was a minor to engage in sexual acts.

Khan was arrested and charged with proposing a sex act to a person under 15 years old.

This was part of an FCPD operation to arrest people who use the internet to engage in sexual acts with a minor. Police had previously arrested five men.

Police said that Khan was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held on no bond.

Officials are urging parents to closely watch what their kids are doing online and use extra security measures to ensure they don’t have access to inappropriate sites and platforms.

They also want to encourage children to report any inappropriate behavior online.
