Evening storm tears through Midstate leaving damage, power outages

(WHTM) — Sunday evening’s storms caused significant damage in parts of the Midstate and left thousands without power Monday morning.

On Walnut Street in Harrisburg, photos show an uprooted tree that crashed down on a car in a driveway. It’s not clear if anyone was hurt.

According to PPL’s outage map, there were more than 1,000 outages in Cumberland County just before 6:30 a.m. Monday morning, as well as more than 100 outages in Perry and Dauphin Counties.

First Energy’s map also shows more than 800 outages in Cumberland County, and more than 200 in York County.
