Evacuations lifted from fire near Murr Road

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — According to EPSO, evacuations for the fire burning near Murr Road in eastern El Paso County have been lifted.

Murr Road remains closed from Max Road to Jones Road.

Evacuations are in place in eastern El Paso County due to a fire southeast of Falcon.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) reported at about 4:20 that evacuations were ordered due to a fire off of Murr Road, which is between Flat Creek Road and Jones Road. The Cimarron Hills Fire Department reported that the fire began as a structure fire in the 4700 block of Murr Road around 3:19 p.m.

The evacuations are taking place from Murr Road west to Peerless Farms Road and south of Murr Road to Falcon Highway.

Multiple agencies have responded to the fire. EPSO asks that people stay clear of the area.
