Enterprise preparing for mass influx of visitors this weekend

ENTERPRISE, Ala (WDHN) — Enterprise city officials expect to welcome thousands of weekend visitors for two events.

The 50th Anniversary of the Piney Woods Arts Festival will be held on the Enterprise State Community College campus on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4:00 p.m.

You can also find the 40th annual All In Credit Union Car, Truck, RV & Boat sale at the Enterprise Civic Center on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to dark.

While city officials are excited about the events, they are also preparing for the massive crowds the festival and sale are expected to bring.

According to the City of Enterprise, Enterprise Public Works members have been preparing additional parking areas at the Enterprise Civic Center and will provide extra garbage collection bins for both events.

The City wants to remind citizens that Highway 167 is still under construction for a multi-million dollar widening project, and the ESCC campus is in the midst of construction, which has closed one of the parking lots. This lack of parking on the campus may increase foot traffic.

“Safety is a top priority anytime you have an event, especially one that’s going to draw a crowd,” Enterprise Fire Chief Christopher Davis said

Chief Davis also says those coming to the events must be wary of the weather and increasing temperatures.

“Right now, the weather looks great for this weekend, but we all know the weather can be
unpredictable. We encourage everyone to be weather aware and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts,” Chief Davis said.
