Emmerdale star Paula Lane breaks silence on Ella Forster's secret

Emmerdale newcomer Paula Lane has teased a big reveal in her character Ella Forster's upcoming storylines.
Last November, it was announced the former Coronation Street star would join the ITV soap in the role of "compassionate and caring" Ella.
Speaking about a secret side to Ella, Lane admitted her character has "responsibilities elsewhere".

"Ella does have a past that is going to be revealed," the soap star said. "She does have responsibilities elsewhere outside the village that mean a great deal to her and I'm so looking forward to exploring this further. "
Lane suggested there's a part to Ella viewers are yet to discover and will see her fighting to protect what really matters to her: "When something or someone so important to her is put at risk she will fight so hard to protect that situation. This is a part of her we've yet to see and there is currently a lot at stake and a lot to fight for."
Lane also opened up on the traits she shares with Ella, saying she thinks they're both "switched on and sociable".
"I like to think I'm a good judge of character and I believe she's the same. I like the fact we both stand up for ourselves too," she said. "I just wish she could trust herself and others a bit more but obviously perhaps she has good reason to try and overly protect herself."

Ella arrived in the village in January this year, becoming friends with Mandy Dingle and being offered a job as receptionist by Manpreet Sharma.
"I've met so many wonderful characters so far but very much hoping to work with the Dingles more," Lane said. "I think Mandy should invite Ella round for a Dingle Dinner to introduce me to her family!"
