Embankment project to begin Monday in Lycoming Co.

UPPER FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that an embankment stabilization project will begin on Monday in Lycoming County.

According to PennDOT, on Monday, April 1, JTT Trucking, LLC, will begin stabilization work on the embankment along Route 87 between Route 973 (south of the Slabtown Bridge) and north of the Loyalsock Hotel in Loyalsock.

PennDOT says travelers should expect delays with single-lane conditions at the start and end of the project.

Officials say, JTT Trucking, LLC, is the prime contractor for the $1.1 million project which includes stabilization of the existing embankment using a tangent pile wall and is expected to be complete in summer 2024, weather permitting.

PennDOT urges those behind the wheel to be alert, slow down, and drive with caution when encountering a work zone.
