El Paso takes on ‘City Nature Challenge 2024’

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso will be participating in the “City Nature Challenge 2024”, observing and documenting the nearby nature.

“City Nature Challenge 2024” is a friendly competition between cities that can observe and record the most species and which city can engage with the most participants, according to the news release from El Paso City Nature Challenge.

The challenge will be from Friday, April 26 through Monday, April 29.

The following local organizations will be having guided opportunities for the community to participate in the challenge:

  • El Paso/Trans-Pecos Audubon Society

  • Frontera Land Alliance

  • Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

  • Insights Science Discovery

The “City Nature Challenge” was invented by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences in 2016.
