Left-leaning actress Edie Falco is hosting a fundraiser Monday night for ex-Democratic Rep. Mondaire Jones in his comeback bid to defeat first-term Republican Congressman Michael Lawler in New York’s Hudson Valley.

“The Sopranos” star has been involved in a number of political causes — mostly recently supporting legislation to outlaw horse carriages in the touristy streets near Central Park.

She also supported fellow “Sex and the City” actress Cynthia Nixon’s 2018 bid for New York governor and progressive Tahanie Aboushi’s run for Manhattan District Attorney — the latter candidate backed decriminalizing prostitution and reducing the jail and prison populations.

Falco also is on record supporting New York sanctuary state status and donated $60 to the Democratic Socialists of America, campaign records show.

Monday’s fundraiser at the Jacob Burns film center in Pleasantville is tied to a documentary and discussion about abortion rights, which the pro-choice Jones clearly wants to make a major issue in the campaign against pro-life Lawler.

Lawler slammed the Falco fundraiser, claiming it’s more evidence showing that Jones is out of touch with the district.

He also cited other lefty donors involved in the event, Anne Hess and Craig Kaplan, who helped found the North Star Fund that backs illegal immigration and opposes aggressive policing.

“It should surprise no one that a ‘defund the police’, open borders radical like Mondaire Jones is relying on fellow extremists to bankroll his campaign. Mondaire and his left wing pals like Edie Falco, Anne Hess, and Craig Kaplan live in an alternate universe where cops are the bad guys, Sanctuary Cities are a good thing, and the rights of violent criminals come before those of law-abiding citizens,” said Lawler for Congress spokesman Chris Russell.

“That insane message might work in the city, but it’s a non-starter in the Hudson Valley,” the Lawler rep said.

Mondaire Jones’ camp shrugged off the criticism and cited Lawyer’s opposition to abortion as a big problem.

“Our event tonight will bring together hundreds of enthusiastic pro-choice supporters from across the Lower Hudson Valley who are excited to defeat anti-choice politician Congressman Mike Lawler, whose support for overturning Roe v. Wade has led to the additional crisis that IVF procedures are now at risk across America,” said Jones campaign spokeswoman Shannon Geison.

“Residents of New York’s 17th Congressional District are horrified by Mr. Lawler’s voting record attacking women’s reproductive freedom and will reject Mike Lawler at the ballot this fall to prevent Republicans from passing a national abortion ban.”

Lawler has said he personally opposes abortion.

But he also opposes a national ban on abortion.

New York’s 17th District includes all or parts of Rockland, Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties.

Jones used to represent the Hudson Valley. But following redistricting in 2022, he ran for a seat in the tenth Congressional District covering lower Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn, losing to Rep. Dan Goldman in the Democratic primary.

Last year he announced a bid to reclaim his old seat won by Lawler.
