EBRSO investigating shooting that leaves man dead early Saturday morning
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported shooting that happened early Saturday, April 27. The shooting left a homeless man dead.
Reginald Riggs, 51, died as a result of his injuries, according to EBRSO.
Casey Rayborn Hicks, the public information officer for EBRSO, said deputies responded to a call about shots fired around 5:15 a.m. Saturday.
When they arrived, they were told Riggs had left the scene.
EMS confirmed that one person in critical condition, who was later identified as Riggs, was transported from the 8700 block of GSRI Avenue via ambulance to a local hospital.
