Despite the cold and rain on Easter Sunday, Alliance-area families stopped by East Milton Street to take in the holiday decorations set up on islands in the center of the street. While some walked along to view the bunnies, flowers and other pieces of brightly colored decor, most slowly drove down the road to enjoy the sights. East Milton residents and the Milton Street Garden Club manage the display each year, with families taking responsibility for the islands. The tradition dates to the late 1950s, and has occurred every year except 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic curtailed the celebration.
