Drug trafficker in Wisconsin arrested after traffic stop reveals cocaine, meth, and fentanyl

KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 51-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested after an anonymous tip led to a large amount of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl being seized.

According to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, on March 16, 2024, deputies received a tip that a possible drug trafficker was operating within Kenosha County.

The Kenosha County Drug Operations Group (KDOG) investigated the tip and developed credible information to substantiate the claim.

On March 26, 2024, KDOG coordinated with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office Operations Division, and a traffic stop was initiated on the suspected drug trafficker.

The suspect, later identified as 51-year-old Paul Braun of Sturtevant, attempted to destroy the narcotics by allegedly throwing them in the air toward the direction of the deputy, ultimately creating a high risk of exposure to the deputy.

Luckily, no one was harmed during the stop, and Braun was arrested for multiple drug-related felonies.

A hidden compartment was subsequently located in the vehicle engine area where cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl were seized. A second suspect was identified throughout the investigation and was taken into custody as well. That suspect was not identified in the press release.

“The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office continues to encourage the community to report suspicious activity as we work together to make Kenosha a safer place to live and visit,” stated officials on the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office Facebook Page.
