Driver leads Mobile police on chase, gets arrested, according to MPD

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A 21-year-old man was arrested after an early-morning vehicle pursuit on Airport Boulevard, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Police officers saw two vehicles traveling at “a high rate of speed on Airport Boulevard” at around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19, an MPD news release said.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicles, one vehicle stopped while the other continued driving, according to reports.

After what police describe as “a short pursuit,” the driver of the vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Courtney Leonard Baldwin, was taken into custody.

Baldwin was charged with attempt to elude (felony) and was released on a $7,500 bond, according to the Mobile Metro Jail log.
