The crash investigation discovered McNamer was allegedly going 65 mph in a posted 45 mph zone with a cautionary speed limit of 35 mph for the turn.

“McNamer’s reckless speed of 20 mph over the posted speed limit while negotiating a curve in the roadway caused him to lose control of his Jeep and travel into the oncoming southbound lane effectively blocking the travel path of the Honda operated by Thompson,” the investigating Trooper wrote in the criminal complaint.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. According to the complaint, both vehicles were badly damaged in the crash, the Jeep was on its roof in a grassy yard on a property.
