Driver collides with guard rail, tree in Rancho Peñasquitos: police

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 36-year-old man driving an a 2024 Audi A4 was sent to the hospital Thursday after a crash in Rancho Peñasquitos, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the driver was traveling southbound on the 14000 block of Black Mountain Road around 11:26 p.m. when he failed to maintain the curve in the road for unknown reasons.

Police said the vehicle collided with the guard rail along the west curb line, and then the driver overcorrected to the left, jumped the raised center median and collided with a large tree.

The man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was treated for several injuries.
