DoorDash driver ‘penalized’ for refusing delivery to nudist customer who planned on ‘exposing’ himself

He wanted food in the nude.

A female DoorDash driver claims she was “penalized” by the food delivery company for refusing to drop off an order to a male nudist.

The woman, who posts under the username @acrispygal99, took to Reddit to rage over the incident, which she said occurred this past weekend.

“I got an offer to drive a little over 8 miles for $10.50,” the driver explained, without disclosing her location. “I normally wouldn’t accept this offer but it was towards the end of my dash and it would bring me closer to home than I currently was so I decided to go for it.”

“When I got to the restaurant, the food wasn’t ready yet, so I took a seat and started scrolling through Twitter,” she continued. “I got a message from the customer saying, ‘Just to let you know, I am a nudist and WILL be answering the door nude.’ I responded with, ‘Okay, I will be canceling then’ and went out to my car to call support.”

The woman was left stunned, however, when an employee on the DoorDash support line purportedly told her that she would not be able to cancel the order without it affecting her “completion rate.”

The driver added that the nudist “was clearly planning on exposing himself to me with malicious intent under the guise of it just being his lifestyle and I didn’t want to be involved.” Denis – stock.adobe.com

“They basically told me that it wasn’t a good enough reason and if I unassign, my completion rate will go down and I won’t be paid anything,” she moaned.

The dejected DoorDash driver subsequently spent the rest of her Reddit post railing against the company, saying: “Am I crazy for thinking this should be a good enough reason to unassign from an order without decreasing your completion rate?

“If you are a nudist, good for you. I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum,” she continued. “But if you’re going to order delivery, at least have the courtesy to put on a robe or just select leave at my door. I don’t want to see your entire c–k and balls when I hand you your hamburger.”

In follow-up posts, the female driver said she wouldn’t be comfortable “being alone with a man I don’t know naked in a place I’ve never been before. “

She added that the nudist “was clearly planning on exposing himself to me with malicious intent under the guise of it just being his lifestyle and I didn’t want to be involved.”

Hundreds of Reddit users responded to the post, with an overwhelming majority agreeing that the man was likely a creep.

“If you’re a nudist, then select ‘leave at door.’ WTF is wrong with people? I’m not a driver, so I don’t know if there’s a way for you to report a customer, but you absolutely should,” one wrote.

Another said the driver likely had an unhelpful person on the DoorDash support line and another employee could have been more sympathetic.

“When you call support and get an agent like this … hang up. Call back. Get a different agent and most likely get what you are looking for,” they explained.
