Donald Trump hints Prince Harry could be booted out of US if he wins presidential election

Donald Trump has warned as president he could deport Prince Harry from the US if it emerges he lied about taking drugs on his visa application.

The former president declared the Duke of Sussex should not get “special privileges”, and hinted he could find himself booted from his Montencito home, during an interview to be aired on GB News.

Trump sat down with Nigel Farage where they discussed Harry’s bombshell move to the California following his marriage to Meghan Markle in 2018.

Under certain US visa applications, people are asked if they’ve ever taken drugs with the answer potentially resulting in their application being denied.

In his memoir Spare, the prince openly admitted to taking cocaine, cannabis and psychedelic mushrooms - but it’s not clear if he declared this on his visa application.

In a short preview of the interview released and reported on by GB News, Mr Trump, 77, was asked by Mr Farage if Harry should have “special privileges” if the authorities find that he’d lied on his visa application.

Mr Trump replied: “No. We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action.”

Mr Farage continued: “Appropriate action? Which might mean…not staying in America?”

Mr Trump responded: “Oh I don’t know. You’ll have to tell me. You just have to tell me. You would have thought they would have known this a long time ago.”

Last year, thinktank The Heritage Foundation claimed Harry’s past admissions of drug use made him ineligible for a US visa. The group was seeking the release of documents to discover if Harry lied in his application.

However, a lawyer for The Department for Homeland Security reportedly said the prince’s claims on taking drugs might not have been true.

Harry currently lives in a nine-bedroom mansion with his wife and two children, Archie and Lilibet. He released his autobiography Spare in January 2023.

In February, he said he had thought about seeing US citizenship in an interview with Good Morning America, but it was not “something that’s a high priority for me right now”.

During the 30-minute interview, to be aired at 7pm, Mr Trump is also said to have defended Kate Middleton over the heavily edited picture shared on Mother’s Day, while also criticising Harry and Meghan.

Harry was last in the UK when he arrived for a meeting lasting less than an hour with his father, King Charles, after his cancer diagnosis.
