Denver weather: Rain and snow forecasted; Pinpoint Weather Alert Day

DENVER (KDVR) — A dreary and soggy day is ahead for the metro with rain and snow moving into the picture for the area.

There are Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories for the foothills and the high country. Areas above 6500 feet in elevation will mostly see snow, meanwhile, lower elevation areas will mostly see rain, though some snow in the late morning/early afternoon is possible in Denver Saturday.

Weather today: Soggy Saturday ahead, rain and snow coming

Rain continues through Saturday in Denver, transitioning into a wintry mix by late morning and early afternoon.

There will be minimal to no accumulation on the roads in the metro area, but there will certainly be accumulating snow for areas above 6,000 feet in elevation.

High temperatures in Denver will only be in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Look for the rain to taper off after dinnertime Saturday.

Weather tonight: Rain slowly clears

There will continue to be some rain and isolated showers later Saturday into early Sunday. Overcast skies dominate the area until early Sunday morning. Overnight lows will be in the upper 30s with winds out of the north anywhere from 5-15 mph.

Looking ahead: Drying, warmer start to the week

Temperatures will warm up Sunday into the upper 50s and lower 60s. Most of the rain will be done by the time most people are waking up.

Sunshine and warmer weather return for the start of the workweek. Highs on Monday and Tuesday will be either end of 70 degrees.
