Denver to Turkey: The longest nonstop flight from Denver International Airport

DENVER (KDVR) — On Thursday, Denver International Airport announced its newest flight to Turkey, which is now the longest nonstop flight from Denver.

Turkish Airlines will become one of the now 26 airlines at DIA. It’s bringing a new nonstop flight to and from Istanbul International Airport, which will come as soon as this summer.

Mayor Mike Johnston said this partnership brings access to more than just Turkey. It opens up opportunities to Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

“The arrival of Turkish Airlines to Denver will bring more than 350 jobs to Denver, huge opportunity for our economy here,” Johnston said. “But more importantly, it connects us to the world. Turkish Airlines is the most connected airline in the world, they’re connected to more cities, more countries, more regions than any other airline.”

List: Nonstop flights from DIA that take more than 9 hours

Flights are scheduled to run three days a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on a 316-seat Airbus A350-900 aircraft. A fourth flight, on Sundays, will be added on July 9, 2024.

Flights are scheduled to leave Denver at 7:35 p.m. and arrive in Istanbul at 4:15 p.m. the next day. Returning flights from Istanbul will leave at 1:55 p.m. and arrive in Denver at 5:40 p.m.

The first flight from Istanbul will arrive in the Mile High City on June 11.

Previously, the longest nonstop flight from Denver was a 5,788-mile trip to Tokyo, around a 12-hour flight. Now, the airport has an even further destination.
