Delta passenger says she was pulled off plane for revealing attire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – You might want to rethink your wardrobe before you board your next flight.

A Delta passenger says she was pulled off a flight for possibly not wearing a bra and now she and her attorney are insisting the airline change its dress policy.

Once upon a time, travelers would dress up to go to the airport. That was decades ago.

Today, dressing down is the new norm with comfort dictating travel attire. P-Js, sweats, and Crocs are IN, but is underwear OUT? Is the absence of a bra considered offensive or revealing?  If so, Delta Airlines, like other carriers, has policies in place to remove provocative fashionistas from flights, and now, a customer is pushing back.

According to reports, Lisa Archbold was dressed for comfort in a loose white shirt and pants for a Delta flight to San Francisco. During boarding, a flight attendant came to her seat and asked to speak in private, pulling her off the plane. The incident was described in detail at a news conference with her attorney Gloria Allred.

Allred said her client was discriminated against. She says Archbold was told that when passengers are wearing offensive or revealing clothing, Delta’s policy is to remove them from the flight. Allred says her client felt targeted and humiliated.

She was told she could fly providing she put on another shirt on top of the one she was wearing. A flight attendant told her that Delta’s official policy says women must cover-up.

Archbold says she assumed the hullabaloo was over the fact that she was not wearing a bra.
