A Quebec City woman charged with second-degree murder of a 14-month-old girl in March is now accused of assaulting two other young children.

Guenuite Mubwaka is expected to appear in court Thursday for assault charges against a 13-month-old and 20-month-old.

Earlier this month, Mubwaka, 25, was charged with second-degree murder. She was also accused at the time of assaulting the child in the months preceding her death.

Paramedics were called to Mubwaka's daycare on Ste-Thérèse Avenue on March 21, where they found the child unconscious. Her death was confirmed upon arrival at the hospital.

Mubwaka's husband, Josaphat Mayuba Ndele, 30, has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.

The new accusations against Mubwaka are related to alleged assaults on two more children in February and March. Ndele has not been charged this time.

Both Mubwaka and Ndele remain in custody.
